"Just what we needed!"

Catch A Wave was exactly what we needed.  The extra side room was perfect for setting up our pack and play for my grandson.  The house had everything we needed.  The pool and outdoor seating area was great.  The house was also within walking distance to Sea Spray and White Sound, where we kept our boat.  We would definitely stay there again.

What a great time! A bit windy but the wind finally gave up. Fun times all over the island and Sklar (6) love Tahiti Beach and making new friends. Egg hunt at Firefly and Hope Town Inn & Marina were lots of fun.

"Beautiful Time"

This property was perfect for my family. The location is approximately 3 miles south of Hopetown Marina/harbor and having a golf cart is really ideal when arriving. Property set up was also amazing. Three bedrooms, spacious living quarters, and beautiful outdoors. The concierge was very property in providing anything we needed. I would highly recommend to anyone staying.

I’ve been coming to Elbow Cay since 2006. (5 Yrs on sailboat, 7 yrs homeowner, until Dorian). Now it’s great to be back. This isalnd never disappoints! “Catch A Wave” is a beautiful home, comfortable and well appointed& the best deck ever! Love the great view and the fabulous assortment of seating areas. The lovely pool & fantastic outdoor shower. We had a marvelous time!!

Left Boston with temps in the single digits. So glad for high 70’s and tons of sun. What’s not to like (love) here? Tahiti Beach is just beautiful- so serene, so full of life, so natural. So sun drenched! Conch bites/ fingers were delicious everywhere. In town Vernon’s home baked breads and key lime pie were treasures for the palate. The expansive stars & planets filling the night sky was extraordinary. Got to meet Miss Margaret for a haircut and Nurse Glory for eight stitches- just two of the local characters in this amazing story book. And “Catch A Wave” was so perfect in every way.

1st Time on the island and it was everything that Jane said it was!! I loved a comment “don’t tell anyone else”. The house was fabulous as well as Jack was the best. Hope everyone else enjoys as much as we did! Happy Vacation!

"It never disappoints!"

Our 3rd time here and it never disappoints! The beaches, the boat rides, the sites, the views, the food, the music, the sunbathing and the friendships! Oh- and the shopping!! Thank you for a whimsical & accommodating beach house experience! We made the most of the down season by adventuring to Guana & the main island. Abaco Inn was fab as usual. We enjoyed church services in town with the locals. Your place has fantastic views and such a fun vibe!

We all had an awesome week. The house was perfect!! We went to Grabbers, Nippers, and all the places on EC that were open. (We were here at the start of the off season). Rented a boat, snorkeled, spear fished, fished & explored. Couldn’t ask for a better time.

First time back to The Bahamas in 10 years and a first for some! We enjoyed the warm pool and the beautiful bright colors of the house. We went to Pete’s Pub, Tahiti Beach, Nippers, Grabbers, Old Bahamas Bay, Hope Town lighthouse and more (too many places to count!). We loved this place. Thank you!

We had a fabulous week at catch a Wave. It was our first trip to the Abacos and won’t be our last. From Pete’s Pub to Tahiti Beach to Mackey’s to Nippers to the Abaco Inn and Firefly we took it all in and still had more to do!! Thank you to and and Peter for a wonderful week of fun!

My husband and I took our sons and their wives. The house was perfect for 3 couples. The caretaker, Jack, took great care of us when needed. The house is a short walk to Sea Spray Marina where we kept a small rented boat. There is also a great Tiki bar, food truck and corn hole at the Marina. The owners answered all of my questions quickly. We had THE BEST time on this trip!!!

The owner connected us with a terrific charter boat guide for snorkeling, fishing, island touring and a great historical perspective on the islands. Great outside pool deck for morning coffee and beautiful start to the day. Highly recommend!

My family’s recent stay at Catch A Wave was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the amazing location. The property, nestled on the coastline, offered a breathtaking view of the crystal-clear turquoise waters and continual rhythmic sound of the Atlantic Ocean nestling up against the white sand beaches. The house itself was a true gem – beautifully designed and meticulously maintained. Every detail was well thought out, from the charming interior decor to the comfortable and spacious rooms (with super fast WiFi and Smart TV’s in every room). The living area opened up to a large terrace, the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee while listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean. One of the highlights was the impeccable service provided by the property management team. They were incredibly accommodating and made sure our stay was flawless. HopeTown itself is a private paradise waiting to be explored. We spent our days snorkeling at Tahiti cove, lounging on the private beaches with a cocktail in hand, and indulging in the local cuisine at the charming restaurants nearby. This vacation rental was not just a place to stay; it was an experience that exceeded our expectations. It’s an ideal retreat for anyone seeking serenity, natural beauty, and a taste of real relaxation in the Bahamas away from any crowds and cruise ships.

"Much needed vacation!"

Great place to stay with all the amenities needed for a great vacation in the Bahamas with friends! Just a short distance from the sea spray marina and just a short golf cart ride to anywhere else on elbow cay. Perfect kitchen supplies for cooking every night! We loved the outdoor George Foreman grill! Everyone we met was so friendly! We will be back again!

Beautiful home with great views of the water. A great place to hang and enjoy the local flavor of this beautiful island. So many good restaurants and we chartered a boat to explore more of all the Bahamas can offer.

Perfect house for our family of 4 (+1 extra 13 yr old). The house had everything we needed. A short walk to beach. Communication with homeowner and care person was excellent. Highly recommend.

"Fantastic house!"

Fantastic house, great location in the center of Elbow Cay. Everything we needed, and more! The pool is awesome, shade in every spot on the deck and a wonderful breeze from the ocean! The two rooms downstairs are not right next to each other which was great! Bed/Bath upstairs was awesome. Unlike some houses, this one stayed cool and the generator was great because we did lose power a few times. The owners were great, as was Jamie, the caretaker. Don’t look any further and book this house, you won’t regret it. We will be back!

Catch A Wave is an awesome house with beautiful views of the ocean! Jane and Peter take meticulous care of the property and are the perfect host/hostess! We had so much fun going to and experiencing the local restaurants, shops and beaches! It’s a must do, epic vacation and we can’t wait to visit again!!

Great home with lovely views. Our week on Elbow Cay was paradise. We had everything we needed and the kids loved the pool. Our daughter took her first non-assisted swimming strokes in the pool! We found good places to eat and drink and Tahiti Beach was a favorite daily activity. Jaimie took care of us on the island and the owners were very responsive hosts. We hope to be back soon!

We had the best time here! Loved the views & hanging by the pool! Firefly was our fav restaurant. Hope to be back.

"Absolutely wonderful!"

Catch a Wave was absolutely wonderful! The house was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed! The beds were so so comfortable!! Loved the outdoor space and pool! We had coffee each morning on the porch looking out towards the ocean- it was amazing. Golf cart that we rented with the house was great and the caretaker texted us to check on us and offered to help us with anything we needed. We hope to rent this house again the next time we return to Elbow Cay!!

We stayed at Catch A Wave for our daughter’s wedding in February 2022. The house is beautifully, yet comfortably appointed- with a layout that can accommodate a group or gathering of people, while providing spaces to not feel “on top”of one another. Fully equipped kitchen, nice, roomy bedrooms with AC/fans, beach equipment, and a wonderful deck/ pool area for relaxing with family and friends. Location is close to the Abaco Inn and C offers views of the ocean. Clean, open, inviting- classic Hope Town vibe. The hosts were very helpful and shared their wealth of knowledge to help our wedding plans go smoothly. We highly recommend this property- you will not be disappointed

Second time to Catch A Wave. Love it here! So happy to share this vacation with our “kids” as they never have experienced anything like Abaco. So glad that the town is on it’s way back and that we can help support all of the beauty that this island has to offer.

"Great, clean, well located property"

Owner & Prop Manager were excellent and very proactive. The pool was clean, cool and perfect for an afternoon dip. It had all of the utensils/ pots needed for cooking. Highly recommend.

I can’t believe we are the end of another stay on Elbow Cay! We have so enjoyed staying at “Catch A Wave”, it is a beautiful home in the perfect location. I love hearing the pounding of the waves as I go to sleep and also have it first thing in the morning. A perfect calming way to end the day and also start the day!  I know that between Hurricane Dorian and COVID the people on the Cay have been through a lot… but they continue to be so hospitable and wonderful. They are one of the main reasons we are back every year.  Thank you again for sharing your wonderful home! We will be back.

"Another Amazing vacation!!"

Always love our trips to Abaco.  Lots of fun with family and friends and the house was great, especially outdoor area and pool after all day boating. Great way to end the day!!

For the last 15 years I have heard wonderful things about Elbow Cay. My expectations were exceeded by an order of 10! The island is beautiful, as expected, but the difference are all of the amazing people. I have never met more gracious and wonderful people. If Dorian wasn’t bad enough the Abacos were dealt a double whammy with COVID. The resiliency and determination of the Abacos is in full view with the people of Elbow Cay. Their warmth, kindness and hospitality are rare and they truly embody the saying, grace under pressure. If you want an amazing location where you can revel in all the glory of Elbow Cay look no further than Catch a Wave. Catch a Wave is perfect for a family or a group of friends. The deck is amazing and the views surreal. Everything you need is exactly where you need it and the house is very comfortable. Personally, I can’t wait to go back.

"Fantastic Getaway"

Spring Break Post Dorian did not disappoint. Jamie, the caretaker, was helpful & provided a seamless transition to the island. The house was lovely. We appreciated the Western amenities too.  Two thumbs up to Tom at the Abaco Inn. It was so nice being able to dock our boat there daily. We definitely see a 2nd trip to Catch A Wave in our future. "Two weeks in heaven"

One with friends, one with just us. Met some wonderful people, great boat adventures, relaxing mornings poolside, 2 clinic visits for COVID testing, and watching the island improve/ clean up/ rebuild day by day. All in all, a much-needed reprieve from the frigid weather at home. We’ll be back as soon as possible! Catch A Wave, caretaker Jamie and neighbor Brian made our stay PERFECT.. Until next time…

"A wonderful property"

Catch A Wave is a wonderful property. The home is clean and well maintained. It has a beautiful deck and wonderful views of the sunrise. Our family would enjoy coffee on the deck and watch the sunrise each morning. The owners were gracious and made sure everything was arranged for us. The pool is also an added bonus. Would highly recommend this home to anyone visiting Hope Town.

As we booked our stay at Catch a Wave we were a little hesitant post Dorian and amid Covid 19 concerns. All of that was laid to rest when we arrived! The home looked as if it had never sustained any damage. The bedrooms were all very comfortable and the deck, pool and outside shower were all amazing. The house manager was waiting at the dock with our golf cart as we arrived and was most helpful. We have spent the last 20 years traveling in the Abacos and this was our first stay on Elbow. It will certainly not be our last. I give Catch a Wave 5 out of 5 stars! Staying on Elbow Cay and in Catch a Wave should be on your bucket list for sure.

"Great Location"

Great location especially if you rent a boat. Quick trip down to Tahiti Beach. Our family was a party of 6 and we all loved it. The owner was great to work with and the caretaker was very helpful. We were very happy with the house and loved that it came with a golf cart. The Abacos are incredible!

"A Wonderful Stay at Catch a Wave"

We had such an amazing week at Catch a Wave. This was the first trip for our family of 4 to Elbow Cay and we can’t wait to go back. The house had everything we needed including a great pool which our kids loved. Plenty of space and an awesome location. We took the short golf cart ride to Tahiti Beach every day and also ventured into Hope Town several days for lunch and to check out the shops. We rented bikes one day and also took the quick shuttle boat over to see the lighthouse. So fun! The house caretaker picked us up at the dock on arrival and dropped us off when we left. The homeowner was great to work with and answered our questions quickly. We’ll be back!

"Excellent location for the SIP event in Hopetown"

Beautiful Beach House close to all the activities in Hopetown. We had three couples and there was plenty of room for all. Lovely , quaint and comfortable. Thanks for a wonderful week.

"Amazingly beautiful and comfortable home!"

The house was wonderful for our stay! We had 5 adults all comfortable and very happy with the home. The house had everything we needed and some amazing views too. The upstairs bedroom’s AC unit was out, but repaired for us in a very reasonable time. We stayed in February so the temperature was comfortable over all. We all completely enjoyed our week! Highly recommend this home!!

"Wonderful house, pool, location on fabulous Elbow Cay"

We had to reschedule a graduation present trip as our graduate had to go off to college early. We could have lost 5 airfares or the 3 remaining travelers could go. We usually go to Green Turtle but felt it would be best to do a different cay and not rub it in to the graduate who would be attending classes!. It was May when I searched and found that Catch a Wave was available – it looked too good to be true. We really enjoyed the house, the pool, the large amount of outdoor space, the views, and Elbow Cay was fabulous. While larger than Green Turtle with more restaurant choices, it clearly is also a much more vibrant island. There is a concerted effort to remove trash, recycle, and it was nice to see construction occurring! Hope Town is so charming whereas New Plymouth on GTC needs attention. Don’t get me wrong I love GTC but now that I’ve seen Elbow Cay it will become my go to in the Abacos! I would definitely stay at Catch a Wave again. The caretaker Jamie was super helpful on arrival and the day we were leaving it was pouring rain. He arranged for the enclosed van from the Abaco Inn (just the best place!) to drive us to the ferry dock so we (and our luggage) wouldn’t be soaked. We met so many friendly people – both visitors and residents. The weather was super – don’t focus on the weather apps too much. It showed rain the entire week we were to be there – we had two quick rain showers that actually took away the humidity and made the evening wonderful. The showers were while we were getting ready to go out for dinner. We loved Abaco Inn for breakfast, lunch and dinner – and drinks at the bar, Firefly Sunset Resort was great for both lunch and dinner. Every morning I carted up to The Sweet Shop for great coffee and the pastries were fabulous. They open at 9:00 am so get there early as pastries sell out! We fished with Ira Key of A Salt Weapon Charters. He was great in very rocky seas! Ran up to Manjack Cay for string rays and sharks and snorkeling at mermaid reef with Froggies – was not impressed – not very helpful – the captain brought along a “trainee” (cute girl) – we didn’t really exist – and I’m not sure a snorkeling/diving outfit should have a trainee that doesn’t know how to swim or tie up to a buoy! The one thing Green Turtle has that Elbow doesn’t is Brendal of Brendal’s Dive Shop. If Elbow got a great dive shop, it would be perfect! We will be back!

Catch A Wave is the perfect choice for a fabulous vacation! The house has beautiful, colorful decor with a family atmosphere. This house is a great place to stay for an adult get a way or a family vacation. It has everything you could possibly need when vacationing on a remote island. I would highly recommend staying at Catch A Wave and hope to plan another vacation there again soon!

"Catch A Wave caught my heart!"

Catch A Wave was the perfect place to stay, especially during the music festival week over Valentines Day. It would be perfect on any occasion. It is close to all the excellent restaurants that hosted the musicians and close to the best beaches on the Island. The accommodation itself was pristine and extremely comfortable. The owner has exemplary taste in decor adding that special touch to comfort. We were lucky to have a backup generator work like a charm when the entire island was out of electricity. I highly recommend Catch A Wave for you next stay in the Bahamas,,,you won’t find better! You might want to book way in advance since Catch A Wave is really popular. We will definitely be back again this year!

We absolutely loved staying at Catch a Wave. My husband checked in the day before and he picked me up the next day and the first words out of his mouth was “wait till you see the house, you’ll love it”. Jane, to you and your husband, kudos to you both… you did a wonderful job decorating and just making the house so homey, you thought of everything. And what a spot, perfect location, near Sea Spray and just down the road from Tahiti Beach. What I loved about where your house is and how it’s situated, you have a lovely breeze on your deck and by the pool.. and you will not want to leave that spot. If you need to stay in for any reason, you have all the comforts of home, 3 flat screen tv’s and the internet service was fast and the power went out a few times, but the generator came on immediately and we had power in the house, plus I love the water system you put in. You just thought of everything. We will definitely rent your lovely home again, plus you were awesome to deal with. Thank You so much.

I had just returned from my first trip to Elbow Cay around mid-April. I loved it so much, I decided to bring my family down, not a month later. Thanks to Jane for making it possible to stay at Catch A Wave on short notice. We had a delightful time, enjoying the lovely turquoise and blue water surrounding Elbow Cay, fishing offshore one day (mahi and wahoo), superb dinners at Sea Spray (easy walk from the house), meals at Cracker P’s and Harbor’s Edge, a trip to Pete’s Pub (and were privileged to catch the foundry in action) and snorkeling at Sandy Cay. And much more… But even with all of that, it was a real treat to return each evening to Catch A Wave. Jane has decorated it so perfectly for its Elbow Cay location. And all the amenities you could hope for are right there. Great pool! Great location! And great to have a generator! We loved it and hope to make a stay at Catch A Wave at least an annual event.
